How do I apply to Touro College in Israel (TCI)?

If I am currently a student at the  Lander College of Arts and Sciences of Touro College in New York, do I need to apply separately to TCI?

No. All potential students apply through the Lander College of Arts and Sciences of Touro College in New York. TCI is a part of the Lander College of Arts and Sciences, NY and is not a separate institution.

If I am currently a student at another division of Touro College, do I need to apply separately to TCI?

Touro students at any division other than the Lander College of Arts and Sciences should contact the TCI registrar, Mrs. Debbie Lehrfield Tel - 02-651-0090 ext. 104.

I am an Israeli. Can I take courses at TCI?

By agreement with the Israel Council of Higher Education (Malag), neither Israeli citizens nor permanent residents may take academic courses at TCI.

I have dual American/Israeli citizenship. Can I attend TCI?

No. The disqualifying factor is Israeli citizenship or permanent residence.

What courses are offered at Touro College Israel?

 Undergraduate, Masters of Education, School Psychology.

Are classes separate for men and women?

 Yes. All our classes are separate. The current schedule includes - Classes for Women: Sunday — Thursday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm - Classes for Men: Sunday — Thursday, 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm and Friday mornings

Are the lectures and textbooks in English?

Yes.

Where can I buy textbooks?

 Textbooks are sold as a service in the TCI office on a first come first served basis. TCI also has a Rent-a-Text service. In addition, books are sometimes available in local university bookshops or online.
 

 How many credits can I take each semester?

Courses generally offer 3 credits and students may take up to a maximum of 15 credits.

Tuition

What is the tuition cost?

Beginning Summer 2012 the tuition will be: Undergraduate: $385 per credit (Most courses offer 3 credits) - Graduate: $430 per credit. (Most courses offer 3 credits.) In addition, there is a non-refundable $120 administrative fee per semester. There is a $100 computer and science laboratory fee for applicable courses.

Is Financial Aid is available at TCI?

Financial Aid is available through FAFSA for one year abroad only.  Students can apply at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov . Other questions regarding FAFSA should be directed to Cheryl Bernath, Financial Aid advisor at Touro College, New York, (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) . A special tuition reduction applies to all Shana Bet students. Other students may apply.  Applications for tuition reduction is available at registration.
